Seriously? Seriously wondering if you did the right thing in making a phone call wait while you tending to a bleeding child?! Cmon.. Sounds like your non-kid friendly phone mate needs to GROW UP!

FWIW - I found and married a wonderful gal who had been previously married and had a 4 year old daughter at the time. Five years later, daughter is now mine (adopted) and we all couldn't be happier. Chin up and fear not - the right man will not view your situation as "baggage and warning signs"!

Ah. I appreciate your honesty. As a mom of 5 I relate with all sides. I don't know how many times I've described myself as not being that kind of mom-the kind that loves existing on the level of child's play.:) But, I know I have different cool mom stuff to offer that makes me unique as a parent.
I have been guilty of the worst mommying ie: repeating a child's name over and over as a lazy attempt to stop or change behavior, forgetting a child in time outfor a long time-, saying no multiple times then "changing my mind" to ok and the list goes on!! All the while, like you, I totally recognize when another parent is totally wasting their breath and contradicting themselves! And it's painfully annoying! This feeling leads me to the contant state of "eating humble pie" that seems to automatically come with raising 5 kids two years apart from eachother! Having kids is like looking in a mirror's reflection at all the corrections that need to be made in me too!
I think being a grandparent is going to be awesome:)

Your phone mate is just silly. Obviously not a realistic perspective on what it must be like to have and care for kids. The phone mate should be flogged or put in the Stocks (the old english thing they put people in for a few days?).

Don't give in to the worry. Take one day at a time and make the best of each day. You cannot worry about what he "may do". Only what he "will do". Keep your head up. Stay strong and proud as you have done a great job with your children.

Hang in there.
I have been in your situation. I was out of work for 18 months with a family of four to support. In the beginning, I was scared and uncertain of the future. My marriage is breaking up, not as a direct result of being out of work but for many other reasons that have come to their end.
I found great comfort in my belief that God and the Universe will provide you with exactly what you ask for. You have to ask for what you want and beleive it will come to you and it will. Some call this the law of attraction others call it free will. Your thoughts affect your actions and negative thoughts will bring negative things into your life. Always see the good side in everything and the change in attitude will bring what you want.

I have been back to work for about 8 weeks and thank God for the experience that I went through. It showed me who I really am, and made me a better person for it.

I wish you well.

I can empthasize with you. I have not idea what it is like on a day to day basis of being a single mother. But I give you credit for doing it. Do not sell yourself short. Requiring a frugual life is not a sin and it builds character. I am sure your children appreciate things more because they see the sacrafice required by you for them to live. Hang in there!
