In all honesty, I go with heartless bastard.

Men need to take responsibility for their children. It sounds like he’s trying to control you. That would fit with monitoring you online and keeping you poor. No decent man would treat his children in such a way.

My ex pays nothing for his children. I’m remarried now to a lovely and responsible man, and generally it doesn’t bother me anymore. But it used to make me really mad. He also drifts in and out of contact, then at times expects me to answer to him with regards to how I bring up my children.

I have a no nonsense policy with him nowadays. Which is easier for me as I emigrated.

He has really hurt his children and that’s the bit I find unforgivable.

I’m really glad that you have met someone nice and I hope that you have a happy and bright future ahead of you. You’re clearly the better parent and therefore your children should stay and be happy with you.

Wow, thanks for sharing your story! I kind of wish I could have slept through most of the delivery of my son. I was induced at about 8 in the am. Starting pushing at about 10 pm. (Until this point I thought labor was a breeze!) Then we realized that my little guy was turned faced up and stuck; pushed for over three hours before he finally decided to make his grand enterance. I mean, in an awful, funny, wonderful, crazy way. Every mom has “how I gave birth” stories, but you get a real gem. I know it’s not how you hoped it would be, but it’s still sweet and I’ll be your kids love to hear it.

I was in the same boat when my kids were small, laid off and very little money, and a single mom. And dang if wonderful people didn’t keep stepping up to gift us time and time again. I learned that besides the GNP that there’s this economy of love that is really what keeps us all afloat. At times it was truly magical.

Now that I’m more solvent, it’s my turn to share the love.
